With over 25 years of unwavering dedication to the field of education, Lloyd Bennett’s extensive background encompasses a diverse range of roles, including teaching, program development, coaching, and leadership. This wealth of experience has equipped him with a unique perspective on the transformative power of education. He has a Master of Education and BA in Psychology from Cal State University Fullerton, along with Administrative Services Credential. For Lloyd, schools and sports have always been avenues for connection, engagement, and growth.

Lloyd’s mission lies in an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children through education. He believes that every child possesses a unique brilliance waiting to be unlocked, and it is his life’s work to provide the keys to unlock that potential. His approach is not merely about imparting knowledge but also about instilling the values of resilience, curiosity, and empathy—values that will serve children throughout their lives.

Wellington Bennett

Chief Financial Officer/ Community Liaison

Wellington Bennett is a dedicated and accomplished Program Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a rich history of success in Operations Management roles since his graduation. With a passion for excellence and a commitment to making a positive impact, Wellington’s career trajectory has been nothing short of impressive.
As a second-generation American, Wellington proudly carries the cultural heritage of his family, which has deep roots in both Mexico and Honduras. This unique background has given him a profound appreciation for diverse perspectives and a strong sense of the importance of community and family values.

For the past 24 years, he has been returning to Roatan and has ignited a powerful desire within him to give back to the community he loves so dearly. He understands the unique challenges and opportunities that exist on the island and is committed to leveraging his skills and resources to make a meaningful difference.
Whether it’s through philanthropic initiatives, volunteer work, or fostering local partnerships, Wellington is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Roatan’s residents.

Maya Benitez

Education Specialist/ Marketing

Maya Benitez is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and community development, whose passion for supporting the next generation has driven her impactful career in education and the non-profit sector. Maya’s journey is guided by a deep sense of spirituality, which infuses her work with a profound sense of purpose and connection to the higher good. With a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and a profound focus on social behavior and self-development.

Maya’s leadership shines through in her ability to create transformative workshops on restorative justice, conflict resolution, peacekeeping, and mindfulness. These workshops are not just tools for conflict resolution and peaceful communication; they are also a sacred space where young people can explore their inner landscapes, nurturing self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

In her current role with The Bennett Foundation FLB , Maya has been able to expand her reach and impact significantly. This role allows her to channel her wealth of knowledge and experience toward initiatives that directly benefit her beloved community Flowers Bay, Roatan. She remains a beacon of hope, a mentor, and a guiding light for the youth she encounters, always encouraging them to embrace their potential and lead with confidence.

Lyla Bennett

Lyla Bennett is Co-Founder and CEO of Community Healing, a distinguished non-profit organization, Lyla has made it her life’s mission to transform the way we perceive and access mental health resources through healing arts.

Lyla brings a special blend of skill and passion to her role as an inspiring leader with more than ten years of practical experience working with children and a wide range of community service projects under her belt. Her journey has been marked by a deep commitment to supporting individuals and communities in their quest for overall betterment—mind, body, and spirit.

Lyla believes that the power of community, combined with accessible resources and education, can catalyze profound transformations in people’s lives, enabling them to reach their full potential and achieve their life goals, no matter how big or small. Lyla envisions a brighter future for Roatan’s residents, where mental health support is readily available and individuals can thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Mariah Bennett

Executive Officer

Mariah Bennett, a remarkable junior at Chino Hills High School who exemplifies a perfect blend of academic excellence, community engagement, and a passion for making a positive impact on the world. One of Mariah’s many pursuits includes her involvement at Chino Hills High School, where she is in Varsity Track & Field, Latino Student Union, and holds the esteemed position of President of the Black Student Union. She plays a pivotal role in promoting awareness, understanding, and empowerment among her peers.

While Mariah’s school life is thriving, her other interests include music, photography, and entertainment. Mariah’s journey into philanthropy began with a transformative trip to her father’s home country, Honduras. This experience ignited her interest in giving back and making a meaningful impact on communities in need. One of Mariah’s greatest joys is collaborating with her family and loved ones to make the world a better place.

 

Stella Bennett

Executive Officer

Stella Bennett, at just 14 years old, is a shining example of determination, talent, and compassion. Currently in the 8th grade, Stella’s life revolves around two significant passions: competitive dance and academic excellence. She has maintained an impeccable 4.0 GPA throughout her middle school career, demonstrating her scholarly abilities and commitment to her academics. The Bennett Foundation FLB holds a special place in her heart because it provides a direct opportunity to give back to the community in Roatan, which her father and his family are originally from. Stella aspires to combine her love for dance and her commitment to education to inspire and empower the children of Roatan and beyond.
